My first experience with massage was when I took an elective class during senior year of college. It was called "Bodyworks, A Course in Complementary Therapies." The course met once a week for 3 hours, and I practiced on classmates, roommates, and friends between classes. Our final was providing free massages to fellow students during finals. A "fun" class in the midst of more challenging academic courses, that course remains one of my fondest memories from college.
After graduating, I worked a series of jobs - everything from nannying to finance. I decided to return to school to study massage therapy, and graduated from the 1350-hour program in Massage and Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy at the National Holistic Institute.
During my time in school, each new modality we learned became my favorite until the next technique was introduced, and my continued commitment to education means I am regularly adding new skills and techniques to my work. I enjoy focused and anatomically specific work that addresses areas of pain and dysfunction for my clients, and can use a variety of modalities to customize each therapeutic session.
I live in Novato with my husband, 2 kids, and our dog, Hugo.
